| ObjectiveTo evaluate the influence of safflower yellow on the levels of serum homocysteine,blood lipid and plasma fibrinogen in patients with unstable angina.Methods56 unstable angina patients meeting the diagnostic criteria,inclusive criteria,exclusive criterion were enrolled and were randomly divided by random number table into 2 groups: the control group(n=28,given routine western medicine only),the experimental group (n=28,on the basis of routine western medicine,given safflower yellow).The therapeutic course of all the patients was 2 weeks.Also to collect 30 cases of healthy persons from the physical examination center of the Fujian Provincial People Hospital as the normal group in the same period.The levels of serum homocysteine,blood lipid and plasma fibrinogen in patients with unstable angina were detected before and after the treatment,they were also detected in the normal group.Results1.The level of serum homocysteine was decreased significantly in the experimental groups and the control group after the treatment(P<0.01 or P<0.05),as compared with the control group,the level of serum homocysteine was decreased significantly in the experimental group(P<0.05).2.Compared with those pre-therapy,the levels of triglyceride,low density lipoprotein,total cholesterol decreased significantly in the experimental group and the control group(P<0.01 or P<0.05).The level of high density lipoprotein increased significantly in both group(P<0.01 or P<0.05).The levels of triglyceride,low density lipoprotein decreased significantly and level of high density lipoprotein increased significantly in the experimental group more than the control group's(P<0.05).The level of total cholesterol had no difference between the experimental group and the control group(P>0.05).3.The level of plasma fibrinogen was decreased significantly in the experimental group and the control group compared with that before treatment,these differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The level of plasma fibrinogen in the experimental group was significantly decreased than that in the control group,and there was statistically significant difference(P<0.05).4.Comparing with the normal group,the levels of serum homocysteine,total cholestrol, triglyceride,low density lipoprotein and plasma flbrinogen increased significantly(P<0.01 or P<0.05 ) in patients with unstable angina;while the level of high density lipoprotein decreased significantly(P<0.01).Conclusion1.Compared with the normal group,the levels of serum homocysteine,total cholesterol, triglyceride,low density lipoprotein,plasma fibrinogen were higher and the level of high density lipoprotein was lower in patients with unstable angina,which showed the serum homocysteine,blood lipid and plasma fibrinogen might contribute to the development of unstable angina.2.Safflower yellow could reduce significantly the levels of serum homocysteine, triglyceride,low density lipoprotein,plasma fibrinogen and improve the level of high density lipoprotein in the patients with unstable angina.It was suggested that safflower yellow might control the inflammatory response,regulate blood lipid and improve the coagulation system in the patients with unstable angina. |
