Objective The purpose of this study is to measure the angle of each segments of cervical spine under the different flexion-extension angle of cervical spine, through measuring the dynamic radiograph between normal Chinese and cervical osteoarthritis,to evaluate and analysis the diversification of the angle of each segments when the cervical spine got a flexion-extension motion. Methods There are two group of people involved in:the A group are eighteen normal Chinese(men 10,women 8) and the B group are twenty one people who had be diagnosised cervical osteoarthritis(men 12,women 9).The motion range of cervical spine was divided in 7 position, hyperextension position,1/2 hyperextension, neutral position,1/4 hyper-flexion position,1/2 hyper-flexion position,3/4 hyper-flexion position,hyper-flexion position. To shoot radiograhic cervical spine lateral projections in these positions. All the photoes were dealed with CorelDRW sofeware to measure the cervical spine curvature angle and each vertebral segments'angle. All the data were analyzed by SPSS statistics software. Results 1.C5/6,C6/7 are the most active segments in the extension positions in normal groups.2.C4/5 and C5/6's contributions are greater than C3/4 and C6/7at 1/2 off under flexion in normal group.C4/5 contributes 45.39%,52.04%,38.39%in the 1/4 hyper-flexion position,1/2 hyper-flexion position,3/4 hyper-flexion position in normal group, larger than other segments;C4/5 contributes 41.65%,34.21%in the 1/2 hyper-flexion position,3/4 hyper-flexion position in normal group.3.C6/7 is the minimus activity segment in the 1/4 hyper-flexion position,1/2 hyper-flexion position and 3/4 hyper-flexion position in two groups, manifested "reverse motion".4.At the 1/4 hyper-flexion position,1/2 hyper-flexion position and 3/4 hyper-flexion position,C5/6 contributes more degrees in normal group than in osteoarthritises gtoup. Conclusions 1.C5/6,C6/7 are the most active segments in the extension positions.2.In normal Chinese,C4/5 and C5/6 contributes more degrees in in the motion of flexion. 3.C6/7 is the minimus activity segment in the motion of flexion.4.C5/6 contributes more degrees in normal group than in osteoarthritises gtoup..
