Objectives: To observe the variation of the concentrations of plama brain natriuretic peptide (p-BNP)and the urinary aquaporin-2(u-AQP2) in the patients with essential hypertension (EH) and the control subjects, then to incesting the effects of (p-BNP) and (u-AQP2) in EH's pathogenesy,it can provide some theory basic for EH diagnosis and treatment. Methods: According to LVMI,147 patients with EH were divided into two groups, including left ventricular hypertrophy group(LVH) and non left ventricular hypertrophy group(NLVH),and the patients were divided into three subgroups by the blood pressure grades in the two groups—the grade 1 hypertension subgroup, the grade 2 hypertension subgroup, the grade 3 hypertension subgroup. The patients were compared against 30 normal control subjects. In all subjects, the plama concentration of BNP were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA), the concentration of u-AQP2 were detected by indirect enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (indirect ELISA), and the mean arterial pressure(MAP) was measured. Analyzed all the measured value by using the 13.0 SPSS software and then discuss the relationship among u-AQP2, p-BNP and MAP.Results: 1.The concentration of u-AQP2 (P<0.01) and p-BNP(P<0.01) in the patients with LVH were higher than that in control subjects and the patients with NLVH. The concentration of u-AQP2 and p-BNP in the patients in the three different subgroups with LVH were higher than that in control subjects and the patients with NLVH in the same blood pressure grade(P<0.05),that inceased along with the blood pressure grade(P<0.05). It had positive correlation among u-AQP2,p-BNP and MAP(P<0.05). 2. The concentration of u-AQP2 (P<0.05) and p-BNP(P<0.05) in the patients with NLVH were higher than that in control subjects. Though the concentration of u-AQP2 and p-BNP in the patients in the three different subgroups with NLVH were higher than that in control subjects, there is no correlation among the three different subgroups (P>0.05). It had no correlation among u-AQP2,p-BNP and MAP(P>0.05) in the NLVH.Conclusions: 1. The concentration of p-BNP in the patients with LVH were higher than that in control subjects and the patients with NLVH ,it suggests that the test of BNP was beneficial for the diagonosis of EH with LVH; 2. The concentration of p-BNP in the patients with LVH inceased along with the blood pressure grade 3.The concentration of p-BNP in the patients with LVH were increases and had positive correlation with u-AQP2 and MAP. It suggests that BNP has effected the expression of AQP2 by mutually effect of cecular messenger molecule; 3. The concentration of p-BNP in the patients with NLVH were higher than that in control subjects, but it had no correlation with u-AQP2 and MAP.
