This paper aims at studying on how the Schisandra Chinensis' ethanolic extract metabolize in rat by using the high performance liquid chromatograph-electrospray ion trap mass spectrometry(HPLC-ESI-TRAP/MS),which is high sensitive and high selective. The Schisandra Chinensis was extract with 75%ethanol,and the rats were intragastrically treated with single doses(25mg/kg) of ethanolic extract, dissolved by 1%carboxymethylcellulose (CMC).The urine samples were collected within 24h after giving the extract, then, the samples were purified by simple pretreatment. The purified samples were analyzed by HPLC-MS.The results show that the active compound and its metabolites existed in the urine samples. There were no obvious difference between the female's urine samples and the male's urine samples. In the male's urine samples,we found 15 target compounds, and elucidated 8 structures of them.Besides, diisobutyl phthalate had never been found in the studies of the Schisandra Chinensis.
