Anterior cervicaldiscectomy and fusion is the classic treatment of cervicalspondylosis at present. In recent years, the rate of premature degeneration ofadjacent fusional segment of intervertebral disc with clinical symptoms hasincreased gradually, due to cervical spine fusion, especially the multi-segmentalcervical fusion. In addition, the main objective of anterior cervical spinesurgery is to relieve spinal compression rather than fusion. In order to solve theproblems mentioned above, artificial cervical disc replacement has become ahotspot of the research in recent years. Compared with fusion, artificial cervicaldisc replacementmay maintain the activity of surgery segment while providingspinaldecompressionandstability.Anditcanalsonormalizethebearingcapacityand kinematics of adjacent segment and reduce the degeneration of the adjacentsegment of vertebral body. At present, the artificial disc which used for clinicaltreatment are prosthesis such as: Bryan,Prodisc-C,Discover,etc. Surgicalindicationandcontraindicationaremainlyreferto standards ofWestern countries. Image quality is closely related to the materials used in prosthetic. As a newtechnology, Cervical artificial disc replacementneeds further basic research andclinical trials before widelyused in clinical treatment, due to its short time of useand rare case load. In this paper, the latest technological developments in theliterature were reviewed, and Discover prosthesis implantation imaging of earlypostoperativeresultswereanalyzed.
