Trauma and eye disease often lead to orbital defect..In the past of ten years,with the development of Maxillofacial surgery and modern prosthodontics,mostof facial defects have been restored by autologous tissue transplantation andprosthesis.But production of prosthesis still used traditional visualmethods,which can bring out big error and bad aesthetic effect,so it can notsatisfy the patients need.At present ,with the development of 3DSStechnology,accuracy of reverse engineering,Computer-graphics Aided three-dimensional interactive Application,CAD and mirror flipping technology,we cancreate single,intelligent and high simulation ways for prosthesis.Firstly, In this study, three-dimensional structured light scanningtechnologies were adapted , Perfect three-dimensional model of themaxillofacial region has been acquired. Secondly the accuracy of facial softtissue has been measured.At last according to the measurement dada to allocatethe prothesis position,We can testify the clinic value of this method. 1. Using 3DSS system to rebuild and measure scale ruler, then we can acquireaccuracy and reliable data which can provide scientic data for clinic.2. To use phase measuring technology get data of unilateral orbital defectpatient ,and rebuilt 3 dimensional digital model. In order to provide reliableand accuracy data which can apply to CAD for unilateral orbital defect.3. Based on the digital face model,the"normal"anatomy of the deformedregion was recreated by mirror projection of the healthy side in Geomagicsoftware.The margins of the mirrored healthy section were adapted to theresection margins as a model of polygon phase.4. The"normal"anatomy of the deformed region was recreated by mirrorprojection of the healthy side with CAD technology. The recreated anatomyof the afflicted side showed symmetry to the healthy side. The 3-D digitalmodel also makes it possible to provide patients with the information ofpossible treatment outcomes and help the communication between doctorsand patients. Consequently, it will benefit from the treatment greatly.In a word ,the wax models meeting the need of clinic could be fabricateddirectly by means of SLS.This way simplified the fabrication of prostheses,saved time and materials.
