Design And Realization Of The Computer- Based Objective Structure Clinical Examination System For Nursing

With the development of the computer and net technologies, the Computer-Based examination systems have been applied in many tests widely. The forms of examination become diverse, the content of test questions become multimedia and the difficulty of test become intelligentized. Furthermore, with the establishing of the database of examination and the developing of the composing and marking examination papers technologies, the form of examination is tending to the group testing from class testing and now, the individual test has become the new attention of researchers and teachers. Relative to the traditional paper-pen test, the computer-based examination systems have advantages in many aspects, such as assistant teaching, inspecting teaching, learning effect and efficiency. Hence, the computer-based systems can be attentive and developed.In other side, As the new method that was thought to be more scientific, the objective structure clinical examination become more attentive to medicinal educationist. The researches have proved that OSCE can gain the more objective, more comprehensive and more equitable results and can reflect the comprehensive capacities of examinees, including clinical abilities, clinical technologies, healthy instruct, urgent adaptability, intercommunion between nurses and patients, clinical ideation and Critical Thinking Skills. OSCE has many characteristics, for example, its examination form is diverse, its questions have better extent and depth and it is more practical and flexible. It can be used to all kinds of medicinal students. It also can be used in the fields of cognition, spirit, emotion etc. The developed countries have used OSCE as the method of clinical medicinal certified test and our nation is ready to use it step by step. As an important part of medicine, the nursing starts to attend to the application of OSCE too. But, it is difficult that OSCE is popularized because the implement is complicated, there are many non-credible factors and the works about examination are immense. In order to overcome these disadvantages, the domestic and overseas researchers begin to try to use computer to realize OSCE and have done lots of research.In that background, the task collects and analyses the information about OSCE, especially relative to the nursing. The task summarizes the current models of OSCE, analyses their stations and relation of each other, and confirms the form of organizing. Based on the researches, the task brings forward the new type of OSCE which is applicable to nursing, and detailedly designs its stations and the process and content of each station. The new type of OSCE is more applicably to computer. It can use computer to complete a great lot of organizing and statistic work. It develops advanced arithmetic and use multimedia. It evidently reduces the workload of examination and enrich the form, finally accelerates the popularization of OSCE.Based on the new type of OSCE,the task research the method to realize the computer-based system. The system applies the improved C/S framework which has three layers. It can enhance the security of system and resolve the problem of slow net link. So it avoids to let examinees to wait in the process of test and ensure the test success. The task confirms the whole framework of system and functional modules, establishes the process and makes the system have reasonable popedom setting. The task designs the process of the standard patients stations, and gives prominence to the thought of the two types station that can well and truly imitate the clinical scenes.In order to validate the validity of the computer-based OSCE system, the task designs and actualizes the test in limited range, the result reaches the anticipative aim.
