【Objective】To analyze the effect of health belief of AIDS/HIV on preventive behaviors among the rural construction workers in Wuhan city . To put forward the AIDS\HIV prevention measures for the construction site workers. To discuss the application of the health belief model in health education on AIDS/HIV.【Methods】Questionnaire survey was conducted to collect the data of the health idea and preventive behaviors on AIDS/HIV of the construction workers at five construction sites in Wuhan City. The basic statistic methods such as frequency distribution table, mean and proportion were used to describe the characteristic of demography, health idea and preventive behaviors on AIDS/HIV of the construction workers. The statistic methods such as t-test,ANOVA,Spearman rank correlation were used to analyze the factors and the relationship between health belief and preventive behavior on AIDS/HIV.【Results】The construction workers scored low at the health belief on AIDS/HIV, the synthesize score is 5.53. The scores of perceived barrier are much lower, the score of perceived susceptibility and attitude is relatively higher. The percentage of the construction workers who had commercial sexual behaviors is 7.28. The percentage of the construction workers who always use condoms while having sex with their spouse or cohabitant's is 4.2. There are positive correlations between the commercial sexual behaviors and perceived seriousness, perceived barriers and attitude. The more they scored, the less the commercial sexual behaviors occurred. There are positive correlations between the usage of condoms and cognitive-behavioral disorders. The more they scored, the more often they used condoms.【Conculsions】There are the unsafe sex behaviors in the Construction workers. Thus we need to improve their perceived seriousness, perceived barriers and attitude. The health idea model should be applied to construction workers in the health education on AIDS/HIV.
