Gastric carcinoma is a major leading cause of cancer death worldwide. Fortunately, it is believed that early gastric carcinoma (EGC) can be cured, thus it is very important to take an ideal method to treat EGC. D2 radical gastrectomy has already got good therapeutic effect as a standard procedure for EGC. The incidence of lymph node metastasis (LNM) of EGC is low, moreover LNM most restricted to levelâ… (N1). The therapeutic effect of extended lymphadenectomy for reduction surgery is same as D2 radical gastrectomy. It is thought that to improve the quality of patients'life became more and more important, and it may be helpful to take different operation for different patients. Some new treatment having been applied in clinical in recent years, in this article we introduced some treatments, such as reduction surgery, endoscopic mucosal resection, endoscopic submucosal dissection, and EGC need adjuvant chemotherapy or not. These might provide reference for standardized treatment.
