The Study Of The Effect Of Etomidate On Kindled Models

Objective:To investigate the inhibition and antiepileptic effect of etomidate on amygdala kindling models in rats..Methods:.An amygdala model was established in rats by electric stimulating and observe the effect of etomidate at different dose on kindling models.The mice was pretreated with ET,30 min later,picrotoxin,a GABA_A receptor antagonist was given by ip,the effect of ET on mice were observed.Results:ET(6～9mg·kg^-1) showed a dose-dependently inhibition on amygdala kindled seizure in rats(P＜0.01).The after discharge duration(ADD) was shorten,the Racine's stage was reduced.Meanwhile,etomidate(2.5～10 mg·kg^-1) inhibited picrotoxin-convulsion in mice(P＜0.01,P＜0.05)Conclusion:Etomidate inhabits the seizure of the amygdala kindling,shows significant antiepileptic effect and obvious anticonvolsion and sedetion effect.
