Objective:To analyze the incidence of engraftment failure and the choice of therapic strategy after engraftment failure in Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation. Methods:From Jan 2005 to Dec 2008,93 patients stored autologous backup cells before they were treated with allogeneic stem cell transplantation.Among them,61 patients were male,32 patients were female. The conditioning regimen was myeloablative in 79 patients and was non-myeloablative in the other 14 patients.Once engraftment failure happen, autologous backup cells were Transfusion. From Jan 2001 to Dec 2004,those patients who did not store autologous backup cells use econd allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation or second cord blood allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation to treat graft rejection. Rusults:engraftment failure occured in 4(4.3%)patients,more common in the non-myeloablative group.3 of 4 patients who recieved autologous backup cells transfusion after engraftment failure achieve Engraftment, more effective than other therapies such as second allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation or second cord blood allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Conclusion:engraftment failure is one of the most sever complication after allogeneic stem cell transplantation, autologous backup cells transfusion is an effective and safe therapy for engraftment failure, relapse after autologous backup cells transfusion is a major defect of this therapy.
