1.Background and Aim:Primary pulmonary choriocarcinoma is an extreme rare entity.The etiology is still unknown.It is difficult to make a diagnosis in early stage and there is still little efficient treatment.With the clinical cases,this article has explored the pathogenesis, the clinical characteristics,the diagnostic methods and the treatment.In order to make the acquaintance of primary pulmonary choriocarcinoma in men.2.Material and Method:The clinical data of 2 cases of male primary pulmonary choriocarcinoma,from Apr 2003 to Dec 2006,were reviewed and analyzed retrospectively,which were from the 2nd affiliated hospital of Zhejiang University.And the literatures were reviewed.3.Results and Conclusions:Primary pulmonary choriocarcinoma in men is extreme rare.Our review of the English literature found 17 cases reported.Primary pulmonary choriocarcinoma is extremely malignant and the pathogenesis is still unknown.Clinical presentation include hemoptysis,cough,weight loss,chest pain and dyspnea with the elevation of Serum and urine human chorionic gonadotropin(β-HCG).Gynaecomastia is the specific manifestation of this disease.Pathological diagnosis and exclusion of extra-pulmonary origin are both needed to make the final diagnosis.Comprehensive treatments combined with surgery and chemotherapy are adopt to treat this disease, while they are comfirmed to be ineffective.Early discovery,early diagnosis and search for effective treatments are the keys to improve the prognosis of males with primary pulmonary choriocarcinom.
