With the development of biomagnetism, it has become one of the hot investigations in the field of bio-effects of magnetic field on tumor. Particularly, among the studies of magnetic field inhibiting tumor growth and proliferation, a lot of investigative materials have been accumulated. Due to magnetic therapy having advantages of easy operation, instant effectiveness, little side effect and aponia, etc., some of the applications have been available in clinic in these years. However, the cognition of magnetic fields in the treatment of diseases is fairly limited, and the mechanism of the bio-effects of magnetic field on tumor is scarcely clear. Therefore, it is very essential to investigate the bio-effects of magnetic fields on tumor and discuss its mechanism on the cellular and molecular level.Breast cancer which accounted for 7% -10% of women systemic malignancies in China was one of the most common malignancies of women, as an upward trend in recent years. Methods of postoperative adjuvant therapy for breast cancer included radiotherapy, chemotherapy, endocrine therapy and biological treatment with the target of HER2. On account of chemotherapeutic bottleneck which lied in the resistance of the tumor cells and toxicity of chemotherapeutic drugs, it was an urgent priority to find a new way to promote chemotherapeutic drugs'efficacy and degrade their doses. Preliminary investigations of the bio-magnetic treatment for malignant tumors had been made by domestic and foreign scholars who figured that the static magnetic field with certain dose could inhibit proliferation of tumor cells.Based on the analysis above, breast cancer cell line MCF-7 was selected as the research object in this paper. These cell lines were exposed to the static magnetic fields, combined with different concentrations of adriamycin interventions. The effects of magnetic field on cell line MCF-7 were observed and its mechanism was discussed by detecting inhibition of cell proliferation, the cell cycle, apoptosis, intracellular changes of reactive oxygen and apoptosis-related protein Caspase-3 expressions. Experimental results showed that static magnetic field could inhibit breast cancer MCF-7 cell proliferation conspicuously, enhance adriamycin-induced inhibitory effects of breast cancer cell line MCF-7 proliferation (P<0.01), restrain DNA synthesis and mitosis of tumor cells (P < 0.05), promote the synthesis of intracellular reactive oxygen species and up-regulate apoptosis-related protein Caspase-3 expression, as is a new way for magnetic therapy in clinic.
