Objective: The objective of this study is to assess hemodynamic performance of a stentless porcine bioprosthesis in dog. Methods: Eight dog underw entmitral replacement with valve prostheses under cardiopulmonary bypass. The hemodynamic parameters of the prosthesis were determ ined by means of echocardiography respectively. Echocardiographic data were obtained at 72 hours after operation. The implanted dog model was observed in therespects of function of prosthesis. Results: The 2 dog undergoing experiment died, while the other 6 sheep survived w ell.The hemodynamic parameters of the prosthesis were determined by means of echocardiography respectively. The mean gradient was not different significantly between discharge and the post-operation. The effective orifice area was good. There was either no or trivial regurgitation. Conclusions: The new stentless porcine valve has good performance in Animal experiments and good short-term hemodynamic performance. Objective The objective of this study is to assess hemodynamic performance of right ventricular outflow tract and pulmonary artery reconstruction (RV- PA) in dogs. METHODS Eight adult dog underwent implanted bioprosthetic pulmonary valved conduit in pulmonary position under the cardiopulmonary bypass with beating heart. Right ventricular and pulmonary artery pressures were measured directly before and after implantation. RESULTS Six adult dog survived with good condition after operation and survived one month after implantation. One dog died from mismatch of prosthetic valve at the postoperative 10 days. The other dog died from the failure of the respirator. The mean gradient was not different significantly between discharge and the post-operation. CONCLUSION The new bioprosthetic pulmonary valved conduit has good performance in Animal experiments and good short-term hemodynamic performance.
