Vaginal Reconstruction

The aim of vaginal reconstruction should be the creation of a neovagina that will be satisfying in appearance, function and feeling. It includes the non-operative impression technique and the surgical method. The former should be the first choice of treatment in clinic. If it is failed, we should choose the other ways. The laparoscopic technique and the autologous vaginal tissue transplantation have taken the place of the old operative method. It becomes easier and safer than before. The material of the vaginoplasty makes the anatomise and the function of the new vigina more suitable. This review summarizes a few field of vaginoplasty, including the way of its development, the choosen of its material, the new surgical techniques and recent modifications to existing techniques and the available data of the female sexual function index (FSFI) to evaluate patient's sexual Function.
