Objective: To investigate the clinical significance of U wave inversion in electrocardiogram in acute coronary syndrome (ACS).Methods: The 85 ACS patients were confirmed by coronary angiography (CAG) were classified into two groups according to U wave pattern: inversion group as observation group (n=40) and non- inversion group as contrast group (n=45). The average age of 85 cases ACS was 62.4±8.0,among those 53 cases were male and 32 cases were female. There were no differences in age, gender, smoking and other cardiovascular risk factors between the two groups. We analyzed the prevalence of cardiac arrhythmia, cardiac function, the coronary artery lesion quantity and the coronary artery lesion location. Results: The incidence of ventricular arrhythmia was higher in the observed group than in the contrast group(P﹤0.05).The left ventricular systolic function and diastolic function was also higher in the observed group than in the contrast group(P﹤0.05). The incidence of the left main coronary artery (LM) and the left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD) was higher in the observed group than in the contrast group(P﹤0.05). Furthermore, we found the incidence of two-vessel and three-vessel coronary arteries in the observed group was higher than that in the contrast group(P﹤0.05).The difference had statistical signification..Conclusion: U wave inversion was a predictor of the prognosis of severe degree of ACS.
