Objectives To establish the chick embryo chorioallantocic membrane(CAM) as a model for in vivo research on angiogenesis of endometriosis(EMs).The model was used to analyze the effect of ischemic/hypoxia preconditioning(IPC/HPC) on angiogenesis of EMs.Methods Endometrium specimens were obtained pre and post IPC/HPC from one case of EMs as control group and experimental group. The two groups of endometrium specimens were explanted onto the CAM with 7 days of incubation. To inspect survival rate of the two groups of endometrium specimens after 3 days of incubation. The expression of VEGF and microvessel density(MVD) were detected by immunohisto -chemical staining(SP).Results The survival rate of endometrium specimens in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group. There was statistically significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).The expression of VEGF and MVD was increased in the experimental group,Showing a tatistically significant difference(P<0.05).There was a significantly positive correlation between VEGF and MVD.Conclusions CAM is an ideal model used in vivo for the study of angiogenesis of endometriosis.VEGF plays an important role in the development of endometriosis by promoting angiogenesis.IPC/HPC enhance the ability of angiogenesis through the up-regulation of VEGF.
