Background and ObjectiveWith the application of thrombolytic therapy,percutaneous coronary angioplasty,coronary stenting in the treatment and other methods of Myocardial Infarction,Myocardial Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury(MI/R) more and more becomes a common clinical pathological phenomenon,and becomes the pathophysiology basis of Myocardial Infarction.Being hypoxia-ischemic in a certain degree or time will lead to cell damage, while with blood supply later,it often does not mitigate damage or restore, but accelerats cell death.Blood supply not always resumes the function of cells with ischemic injury,but to a certain aggravates the damage, this phenomenon is called ischemic reperfusion injury.Aralosides is extracted from the root and leaf of Aralia elata.Aralia elata of Araliaceaeplants,is mainly distributed in Northeast of China.It is rich in resources,which is customedly picked and made to be Chinese traditional medicin by our country,its dry root-bark and stem-bark, Weixin,ping,and a little poisoned.Aralosides has the function of soothing the nerves of one's vitality,strengthening,dehumidifing and so on.To investigate the effects of Aralosides and Plavix on expression of inflammatory molecule sVCAM-1 and the activity of Malcic Dialdchyde (MDA) & superoxide dismutase(SOD) in rats after myocardial ischemia/reperfusion(MI/R) injury.Methods and Results A model of myocardial ischemia 45min followed by 6h reperfusion was made by reversibly ligating coronary left descending artery.30 Wistar rats were divided randomly into 3 groups:Ichemia reperfusion Group, Aralosides Goup,Plavix Group.HE staining was used to observe the pathological changes of myocardial issues.The activity of MDA and SOD was measured,too.ELISA was used to determine sVCAM-1 expression in myocardium.In rats treated by Aralosides or Plavix,the lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) activity was significantly decreased.Meamwhile, Aralosides and Plavix raised the activity of Malcic Dialdchyde(MDA) & Superoxide Dismutase(SOD).sVCAM-1 expression was detected in myocardium after ischemia 45min followed by 6h reperfusion.In rats treated by Aralosides or Plavix,sVCAM-1 expression remained unchanged(P>0.05).ConclusionThe above suggests that Aralosides could protect myocardium from inflammatory injury during MI/R,possibly through increasing the content of MDA,enhancing the vitality of SOD,reducing the poisoning effect to myocardial cells of free radical oxidation and reducing myocardial cell injury.Plavix also could protect myocardium from inflammatory injury during MI/R,possibly through enhancing the vitality of SOD,reducing the poisoning effect to myocardial cells of free radical oxidation and reducing myocardial cell injury.
