Treatise of Souces and Symptoms of Disease(TSSD) wrote by Chaoyuanfang of Shui Dynasty, was the original monograph of etiopathogenisis and pathogenesis of TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE (TCM). This work discussed and summarized the etiopathogenisis, pathogenesis, syndrome of disease of TCM in-depth, made a first fineness and precise classify on disease sources and syndrome of TCM. The work valuable in research on antiquity disease name, etiopathogenisis, pathogenesis, breathing exercise and life-cultivation. As a masterpiece of TCM, scholars of all dynasty had studied a lot and wrote many high level books on it. But, there were lot of academic problem were disputing till today. Especially, deficiency summary and study of academic thought hierarchy. The thesis was written with classics literature research methods of distinguish, analysis, reduction and induction in principal of inherit, creativity, development. Directed by distinguish academic, and research origin and development of TCM , systematically trimming, analysiing and digging the academic thoughts of TSSD, binding with TCM classic theory and clinic. The study include two section. The first section was synthetic research: outline main content, explain the book name, introduce author and the process of wrote book; analyses edition; discuss the academic feature . The second section was overview manifestations of disease: we analied 71 category manifestations of disease based on contrast with each disease. The study intensive probed disease name, sources of disease, category and character of symptom. Following the principle of 'remove thickness, thickness and draff; keep Spirit, truth and essence' , to describe the academic thoughts and achievement of dermology, gynecology, midwifery, paidology, traumatic surgery, parasitology, andriatria, otorhinolaryngology, foetus thought, life-cultivation and daoyin technique. Then induction and summarize the bulkly academic feature and thoughts system of SSD in integer level, and service to guide TCM clinical practice in better and efficiently way.
