Objective To study the mechanism of the extractive from Rhizoma Alismatis influence the level of tHcy, Glutathione in the blood plasma of the homocysteinia rabbits and the level of NOS,iNOS,SOD,MDA in the blood serum of it.Methods The effective components in Rhizoma Alismatis was extracted by recirculating 90% alcohol.Twenty-four health male rabbits was divided into three groups at random: normal control group(n=4), model group(n=10), therapy group(n=10).Model group and therapy group were given L-methionine subcutaneouse injection very day for eight weeks.At the same time ,the therapy group was fed the effective components in Rhizoma Alismatis and the normal control group was given physiologic saline subcutaneouse injection.After 8 weeks,tHcy and Glutathione in the blood plasma of the homocysteinia rabbits was examined by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC).Enzymic method were performed to determine triglyceride (TG),Totel Cholesterol(TC), Colorimetries were performed to determine Superoxided ismutase (SOD),Maleic Dialdehyde (MDA),Superoxide Dismutase (SOD),induce nitric oxide synthase(iNOS) and Nitric oxide synthase (NOS).Results (1) The level of tHcy in model group and therapy group increased obviously (p<0.01). (2)Compared with the control group ,the level of Glutathione in the therapy group was highe(rP <0.01),but in model group was lower(p<0.01) . (3)The level of TG and TC in two grops did not increase obviously(P >0.05),compared with the normal control group. (4)The level of SOD in the therapy group was higher(P <0.05)and the level of MDA was lowe(rP <0.01).(5) The level of NOs and iNOs in the therapy group was highe(rP <0.01). (6) After 8 weeks,the aorta lice of animal investigation with HE.The aorta lice of therapy group invested mild lipoid degeneration. The aorta lice of the model group which was observed the adipose cell ,is the moderate or serious lipoid degeneration.The Endothelial cells in the control group whose endomembrane was integrated,and not fatty degeneration was not detachment.Conclusion These data de monstrated that the effective components in Rhizoma Alismatis can protect the blood vessel endothelium through increasing the level of Glutathione and inhibitting the activity of iNOS.
