Study On Influence Of Clinic Prescription Set To Rational Drug Use

Object:In order to eliminate irrational use of drugs and reduce unnecessary waste of medicine resource, we have done many intervention researches. There are many especial and useful intervention experiences in China, such as Prescription Set. This study researched theory foundation of Prescription Set, and evaluated the effect of Prescription Set to improve rational use of drugs. This study summarized the experience of Prescription Set in Yuexi County of Anhui Province. This study provided some suggestions on how to implement Prescription Set in other rural areas and hospitals in China.Data and Methods:Literature review, field investigation, DELPHI, stakeholder analysis and statistical method were used in this study. The data included: (1) Lliteratures of rational use of drugs in home and abroad. (2) Literatures of Prescription Set in home and abroad. (3) Data of Prescription Set in Yuexi County of Anhui Province, including: documents, reports of Prescription Set; interview data of 50 persons of Yuexi County in Anhui Province, including managers in health management department and health facilities and health workers and patients; prescription data in Tiantang Town Health Center of Yuexi County of Anhui Province.This study content included: (1) study on theory foundation of Prescription Set, (2) evaluate effect of Prescription Set, (3) summary experience of Prescription Set.Results and Conclusions:1. Prescription Set keeps away risk resulting from difference of technical level of physician and moral loss. It is efficient and equitable. Prescription Set follows the principle of Standard Treatment Guidelines.2. There is irrational use of drugs in ordinary prescriptions. Drug use of Prescription Set is rational. Prescription Set precedes ordinary prescriptions on the evaluation indicators of rational use of drugs. Average number of drugs per encounter, percentage of antibiotics, percentage of encounters with cortex hormone prescribed,percentage of injections of Prescription Set was lower than ordinary prescription. Prescription Set promotes rational use of drugs, reduces the irrational medical expenditure.3. Most of patients who used Prescription support practice of Prescription Set. Prescription Set improves degree of satisfaction of patients.Suggestions:1. Attempt practice of Prescription Set in primary health facility in the country.2. Strategies to implement Prescription Set:(1) Depend on New Rural Cooperative Medical System to implement Prescriptio -n Set;(2) Encourage government,department of health management, management office of New Rural Cooperative Medical System;(3) Emphasis Intervention to health facilities, and Strengthen management of health facilities;(4) Increase government financial support to health facilities;(5) Carry out Propaganda of patients.
