Background and Objective:Apoptosis is the body of important physiological processes to maintain theinternal environment plays a key role in stability. Inhibitor of apoptosis protein(inhibitor of apoptosis protein, IAP) suppress apoptosis are essential ingredients.Survivin protein is a new member of IAP family, in human tumors have a widerange of expression, and survivin protein expression is closely related toprognosis of patients. Bcl-2 protein had a close relationship with tumoragenesis,is has been widely studied apoptosis-related proteins. this paper is toexplore the expression of survivin protein in non-small-cell lung cancer and itsrelationship with the expression of bcl-2 protein. Discussing their relationshipsto the biological behavior of NSCLC and the likely moleculemechanism. Forsurvivin, Bcl-2 as a new target the introduction of the tumor to provideexperimental basis for clinical treatment. Methods: Expression of the survivin proteins was examined by immunohistochemicalmethod in 60 non-small-cell lung cancer tissues and 15 normal lung tissues. Studyits relationship with clinicopathological features and expression of bcl-2 proteinin NSCLC.Results:1. Survivin was expressed in 37 of 60 (61.7%) cases of non-small-cell lungcancer. In contrast, normal lung tissue did not express survivin (p<0.05).2. The positive expression of survivin was associated with TNM stages, celldifferentiation, lymph node involvement (P<0.05), but not associated with ages, gender, smoking, histological classification (P>0.05).3. The expression of survivin correlated with bcl-2 (P<0.05).Conclusions:1. Survivin protein in benign pulmonary lesions did not express, in nonsmallcell lung cancer in high expression, suggesting that survivin has a tumorspecific,it is expected to become the diagnosis of lung cancer tumor markers andthe new target. Its detection can be used as non-small-cell diagnostic marker fornon-small cell lung cancer early diagnosis and treatment provides a newapproach.2. Survivin protein in non-small cell lung cancer tissues and high expressionin lung cancer TNM staging, differentiation degree and lymph node metastasisare closely related, indicating that the gene on the occurrence and developmentof NSCLC play an important role, suggesting that survivin expression with non small cell lung cancer growth ,infiltration and metastasis, Survivin gene isexpected to determine the condition and evaluation as a prognostic indicator.3. Survivin protein expression and Bcl-2 protein expression was positivelycorrelated, both in non-small cell lung cancer may play synergy. Joint Detectionsurvivin protein and Bcl-2 protein, can be judged in non-small cell lung cancerinvasion and metastasis ability of prognosis.
