Pulse diagnosis holds a very important position in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is also indispensable objective basis of dialectical management. Its signal has a large number of known and unknown physiological information. But the qualities and subjectivity of pulse diagnosis greatly weakened its scientific significance. These became the limitation factor for the Chinese medicine pulse diagnosis'application, development and communication. Thus, impersonal research of the pulse diagnosis has important meaning for inheriting and expanding of our country Chinese medicine. This paper is to develop an acquisition system on pulse tracings of Traditional Chinese Medicine which is used to acquire, display, save, print and analyze the pulse wave.According to current technique and deve1opment direction, we designed and researched the project of pulse signal acquiring apparatus based on ADuC845: Flexible system uses back-pressure, floating sensor design, which is in line with forces of Chinese Medicine, and the system also takes into account the feasibility of projects. It can actually withdraw the pulse signal, and the analog signal can be converted into digital signal after amplifying and filtering. Then the signal is displayed on LCD and printed by the micro-printer, and also the pulse signal can be sent into computer. The computer's serial interface is accessed to the MSComm control in VC++6.0, adopting the asynchronous communication with MCU. It can examine and show the respiratory signal, and set communication port simply by asking. In the end of this paper, we introduce the methods of character abstraction of the pulse wave in time, frequency domain.The results indicate that the system solves the problem of accuracy and stability of the past instruments. The signal of the system could have a high repeatability. Thereafter, the collections of arterial pulse signals and signal process will be the most work in the future research.
