Ultra-high pressure water jet technology is a new kind of non-thermal processing technology; it is mainly used in the fields of mining, metallurgical, petroleum, chemical, construction, mechanical, beverage, food and so on, the subject of ultra-high pressure water jet technology on the effects of the chemical constituents of Chinese medicine and the physical properties of water was studied.1. Research in the effects of ultra-high pressure water jet on the chemical composition of Chinese medicine, the chemical compositions and the contents of the Salviae Miltiorrhizae, Rhizoma Gastrodiae, Radix Puerariae, Corter Phellodendri Chinensis and Schisandra chinensis were identified and determined by TLC and HPLC, witch were treated by the ultra-high pressure water jet with different pressure.2. The color of the spots were the same with the control sample in the TLC Chromatogram of the sample, and also the size of chemical dots and the value of Rf was no significant difference, compared with the Chromatogram of control sample before and after deal with ultra-high pressure water jet, except the tanshinoneâ…¡A.3. The contents of gastrodin in the extraction of Rhizoma Gastrodiae and schisandrin in the Schisandra chinensis were increased 6.65% and 11.45% respectively, which were treated by pressure 250MPa; the content of berberine hydrochlodride in the solution of Corter Phellodendri Chinensis has increased 8.43% after treated by pressure 300MPa, and the puerarin in the Radix Puerariae also has increased 5.68% after treated by the pressure of 350MPa, but the content of tanshinoneâ…¡A in the solution of Salviae Miltiorrhizae has decreased more than 80%.4. The temperature of water was raised after treated along with the specimen handling temperature and treating pressure's rise; the specimen handling temperature and the treating pressure has no significant effect to the density and index of refraction of water; the conductivity, total alkalinity and total hardness of water increased firstly and then decreased later, but the specimen handling temperature to its influence change has not obvious rule.5. At present, the study of ultra-high pressure water jet in the area of the Chinese medicine is still in a initial stage, this topic conducts the preliminary exploring research to the effects of ultra-high pressure water jet on the chemical compositions of Chinese medicinal herbs, and accumulated certain foundation experimental data for the for the system research the ultra-high pressure water jet technology's application and the transformation mechanism of the chemical compositions of Chinese medicinal.
