ObjectiveTo study correlations of psychological and autonomic nerve changes and brain-gut peptide in functional dyspepsia(FD).MethodTo investigate the relationship between psychologic status, autonomic nervous activity and FD.Methods:Symptom checklist-90(SCL-90) and 24-hour heart rate variability(HRV) analysis were used to evaluate the psychologic status and autonomic nervous activity in 62 FD patients and 20 healthy controls. Also six Milliters of venous bloods were collected. The Plasma brain gut Peptides including Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide(VIP) and 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT) were measured by radioimmunoassay technique. The dates were analyzed with SPSS11.0 statistic software, and Presented as mean and standard deviation. The differences between groups were analyzed by Analysis of variance or t-test.Results1.The scores of most psychologic factors among FD patients were markedly higher than those among the healthy controls(P<0.05).but there were no significantly differences between group EPS and PDS.2.However,no significant statistical difference in autonomic nervous activity was found between the two groups(P>0.05).There had been significant statistical difference in autonomic nervous activity between FD patients with and without somatoform disorder, anxiety or depression(P<0.05).3.The levels of Plasma VIP and 5-HT in FD patients were significantly high than healthy controls, besides, the levels of 5-HT in group EPS was lower than group PDS.4.The levels of Plasma 5-HT were significantly differences between FD patients and healthy controls. However, the levels of VIP has no changes.Conclusions1.Functional dyspepsia was a disease of multiple factors and versatility pathophysiologic process.2.Psychologic distress is closely related with FD,and autonomic nervous dysfunction may be the intermedium between them.3.In the Patients with FD,there are disorders of brain gut peptide such as 5-HT and VIP,it may play an important role in the Pathogenesis of FD.4.In addition to the therapy,we should pay attention to combined therapy and personal therapy.
