| AIM To investigate the ultrastructural changes of morbigenous candida albicans treated with marine lysozyme and observe the clinical therapeutic effect of Haifujiemo(key component:marine lysozyme) on candida albicans vaginitis and bacterial vaginosis.Methods:The colonies of morbigenous candida albicans isolated from vaginitis patient were treated with marine lysozyme(3.5×103 U·mL-1) for 4-24 hours,and their ultrastructures were studied under electron microscope.Haifujiemo was prepared according to prescription.204 candida albicans vaginitis patients were studied,112 patients were treated with Haifujiemo,while 92 patients with Gyno-Daktarin served as control.To observe the therapeutic effect of Haifujiemo on bacterial vaginosis,300 patients were random divided into two groups:150 patients were treated with Haifujiemo,and 150 patients with arilin.Results:Treatment with marine lysozyme(3.5×103 U·mL-1) for 4h,the cell wall of candida albicans was lacked and showed reductus with pyknosic cytoplasm.Further treatment for 16 hours,most cells became global shape and their cytomatrix components were lost and some vacuoles appeared in the cytoplasm.24 hours later,the cell walls depleted and the cells spitted.These results indicated that target site of marine lysozyme was cell wall.Clinical data showed that the cure rate of Haifujiemo(86.61%) on candida albicans vaginitis was markedly higher than that of Gyno-Daktarin(60.81%)(χ2=20.22, p＜0.01),and no adverse effect of Haifujiemo was observed during theraputy.As for bacterial vaginosis,the cure rate of Haifujiemo was 83.33%,recurrence rate was 8.03%,while the cure rate of arilin was 68.87%,and recurrence rate was 20.93%.Conclusion:Marine lysozyme exerted powerful antibacterial activity on morbigenous candida albicans,and its target site was on cell wall.The curative effect of Haifujiemo on candida albicans vaginitis and bacterial vaginosis was significant.Our results could facilitate the clinical therapy on vaginosis.
