The Clinical Research Of Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment To Heal The Thoracolumbar Burst Fracture Without Neural Impairment

Objective To research the result of treatment to heal the thoracolumbar burst fracture without neural impairment by traditional Chinese medicine(supra- extend replacement add Chinese crude drug) and operation(open reduction add short segmental transpedicle fixation)respectively,and estimate the possibility and superiority of traditional Chinese medicine to heal the thoracolumbar burst fracture without neural impairment,and provid the foundation to spread clinically.Methods From May 2006 to May 2007,thirty two patients with thoracolumbar fractures without neural impairment who healing in department of orthopaedics of mindong hospital Fu jian province were treated by two groups with different Treatments,there are group A[traditional Chinese medicine(supra- extend replacement+ Chinese crude drug]and group B(open reduction short segmental transpedicle fixation)symptom, radiologic complication outcomes(angle of cobb,displacement percentage,narrow of spinal canal) was measured at preoperatively,postoperatively and follow—up.The data was described with mean±S.D,and statistical analysis by SPSS 14.0.Results A total of 31 patients were followed up for 7 months averagely(6—12 months).There was no neurological and vascular complications correlated with all patients.two connector bares were breakage in group B.in the terms of radiologic(angle of cobb,displacement percentage,narrow of spinal canal),the group B improving as better as A(P＞0.05),and two groups were all better than pre-threatment (P＜0.05).In the aspect of functional assessment(Danis standard),The significant difference was not found in the two groups.(P＞0.05).Conclusion1 traditional Chinese medicine(supra- extend replacement add Chinese crude drug) could get clinical effection to heal thoracolumbar burst fractures without Neural Impairment as same as operation group.2 traditional Chinese medicine(supra- extend replacement add Chinese crude drug) could heal thoracolumbar burst fractures without Neural Impairment with less wound,less cost than operation group.it is worth to spread.
