Eczema is the common dermatosis easily leading anxiety, depression or other mood disorders and impacting on quality of life of patients because of impacting beautiful outlook. This study analysised the impact factors of eczymatous severity and investigated the conditions and influencing factors of the quality of life in eczema to early intervent the risk factors of eczema, increase awareness of the disease and patients' quality of life, improve the comprehensive treatment of eczema.Methods60 inpatients between January 2007 and January 2008 in eczema were questionnaired with self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), self-rating depression scale(SDS), Dermatology Life Quality Index(DLQI),World Health Organization Quality of Life assessment instrument-Brief (WHOQOL-BREF) and a General State Questionnaire. 40 inpatients with psoriasis as control group were questionnaired with DLQI and WHOQOL-BREF.Results1. Of those 68 eczema patients who responded to the survey,63 patients returned the questionnaires. However, only 60 questionnaires were valid(88.2%);Of the 45 psoriasis patients we retrieved 40 valid questionnaires(88.9%). 2. The total mean DLQI score(17.87±6.14) and symptoms/feelings, relationships, treatment dimensions in eczema patients were higher than that in psoriasis patients( mean DLQI 14.75±4.97), which had statistical significance(P<0.01). The score of WHOQOL-BREF between the study group and control group had no statistical significance besides population reception.3. The prevalence of anxious disorders and depressive disorders were 58.3% and 51.7% respectively.4.Using multivariant stepwise regression method,we screened out the impactions of DLQI including anxiety disorders, dietary restriction, economics, education, state of illness; while anxiety disorders, dietary restriction and course of disease had influence on WHOQOL-BRE. The severity of disease was associate with IgE value, allergic rhinitis/asthma, drug hypersensitivity and depression.Conclusion1. Eczema patients got higher score in DLQI than psoriasis patients with greater impact on patients' quality of life.2. Anxious disorders and depressive disorders were often seen in eczema inpatients.3. Anxious disorders, dietary restriction, economics, education, state of illness, course of disease were the main factors that influence patients' quality of life.4.The patients had serious illness with higher IgE value in the blood ,the case history of allergic rhinitis/asthma, drug allergy and depression.
