With the further development of cardio- pulmonary resuscitation technique and the system of emergency treatment, more and more patients get early treatment after cardiac arrest and recover blood circulation, therefore, cerebral resuscitation has been become a hot spot of CPCR research. Cerebral resuscitation is a key point of resuscitation success after cardiac arrest, the mechanism of brain injured is possibly related to the following factors : inflowing of calcium ion, lactic acidosis, the release of excitatory amino acid, producing of oxygen free radical and ischemia reperfusion injury and so on. So far, some new progress has been get in the research domain, including dealing with cerebral edema, hypothermia therapy, cerebral protection with drugs and hyperbaric oxygen, gene therapy, neuron regeneration and so on. Otherwise, it plays a important role to monitor cerebral blood flow and to detect prognostic indicator of neurology in cerebral resuscitation. Brain injured is mutually or consecutively induced by multi-factors or multi-mechanisms, it is impossible to reverse path-physiologic change to achieve complete cerebral resuscitation with simple drug or measure. So it is ideal for successful cerebral resuscitation to exploit new drugs and therapy methods, and to adopt combined therapy, especially, definite therapy is performed in definite time.
