Objective:1. To investigate the development of auricle of normal Han children in Changsha, and provide morphological evidence for the appropriate surgical time and cartilage framework carving of ear reconstruction.2.Discuss the influential factor of computer-assisted digital photogrammetryMethods: The left ear of three normal young man were measured by direct measurement, Then took photoes with different shot condition, these digital photographs were measured by image analytic software called Image-Pro Plus 6.0. Compared the consequence in order to reveal the influential factor of computer-assisted digital photogrammetry. Some anthropornetric indices of external ear on 110 normal Han children from 2 to 12 years old and 10 adults in Changsha area were measured by computer-assisted digital photogrammetry, then stevelogically analysised for studying the sexual difference and the postnatal developmental feature of different age phases.Results:1.The difference has no statistical significance when Change the object distance of shot (P=0.944>0.05) and changed the parameter of digital cameral (P=0.700>0.05) , but when Changed the head position of subjects and shot angle, the result has significant statistical difference (P=0.000<0.01) , Compared with direct measurement, the difference of length item is less than 0.1mm, has no statistical significance(p>0.05). angel measurement showed much diversity, about 3.68°-5.23°.2.when they are 12 years old, the Morphological ear length reaches 95.51% of adult in female and 97.97% in male; the Morphological ear breadth reaches 100% of adult in female, and 94.35% in male; the physiognomic ear length reaches 99.47% of adult in female and 99.93% in male; the physiognomic ear breadth reaches 99.42% and 99.48% in male. When the children are between 6 to 10, their auricle's size are above 90% of adult's. The ear inclination angle descend before 5 years old and stabilized at 20°after that age. The t-test of sexual difference showed no statistical significance (p>0.05) except the morphological ear length of 12 years old group (p<0.05).Conclusions:1. computer-assisted digital photogrammetry is precise when the index on a same plane or its parallel projection on the plane. It has no relationship with the object distance, the parameter of digital camera. It is a simple and feasible method for multisampling multisided measurements.2. The ear showed an early rapid growth rate between 2 and 6 years, The external ear approaches its mature size at about 12 years. the appropriate surgical time of ear reconstruction is between 6 to 10 years old. The difference between auricle of male and female has no statistical significance.
