Objective:To evaluate the value of prostate specific antigen(PSA), carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA),carbohydrate antigen 19-9(CA19-9)in diagnosis of skeletal metastasis of prostate cancer.Methods:61 patients with prostate cancer were divided into three groups according to the results of bone scintigraphy or the levels of PSA(demarcation value is 20ng/ml and 50ng/ml),two subsets formed in group PSA=20ng/ml and group PSA>20ng/ml respectively according to whether test items included PSA alone or PSA combined with CEA,CA199,We assessed whether these groups influenced the level of the tumor markers in univariate analysis(include X2 test, T test,ROC and AUCs).Results:Patients with skeletal metastasis of prostate carcinoma had a higher level of markers PSA(P<0.0001)than patients without skeletal metastasis, but had not a higher level of markers CA199 and CEA(P=0.059, P=0.09),X~2 Test analysis showed that Serum PSA improved the ability to diagnose skeletal metastasis when combined with serum CEA or CA199 in group PSA>20ng/ml,but it can not show that improvement in group PSA=20ng/ml.Conclusions:Serum PSA is the preferable measure to diagnose skeletal metastasis of prostate cancer by now,CEA and CA199 is only the second way to diagnose skeletal metastasis,With PSA>20ng/ml,testing CEA and CA199 is suggested, bone scintigraphy should be performed if the level of CEA or CA199 is higher than their Cut-off values.
