Objective To review the Electrophysiological mechanisms of patients with tachycardia and to analyze the methods, safety and efficacy of radiofrequency catheter ablation. Methods 67 patients with tachycardia(including atrial tachycardia, atrial flutter and atrial fibrillation),who had been undergone radiofrequency catheter ablation(RFCA),were retrospectively analyzed about the electrophysiological mechanisms, ablation methods, procedure time, exposure time of x-ray and ablation targets. Results Among 67 patients with tachycardia:□there are 24 patients with atrial tachycardia. The RFCA achievement ratio was 92%.1 patient recurrented atrial tachycardia after RFCA.Targets were mostly on the orifice of coronary sinus(8 patients),the Koch trigone(4 patients)and the crista terminalis(5 patients).□there are 19 patients with atrial flutter(AFL).In thoes patients, there are 17 patients with isthmus-dependented AFL,2 patients with non-isthmus-dependented AFL; 17 patients with typical AFL,6 patients were combining with atrial fibrillation. The RFCA achievement ratio was 94.8%.1 patient recurrented AFL after RFCA.□There are 24 patients with atrial fibrillation(Af), including 21 patients with paroxysmal Af,2 patients with persistent Af,1 patient with permanent Af;6 patients were combining with AFL.The RFCA achievement ratio was 92%.2 patients recurrented AFL after RFCA. Calculating all the 25 Af RFCA operations, the radiofrequency ablation time was(209.2±131.5)min and the exposure time was(54.9±52.8)min.1 patient were cancelled to continue RFCA when radiopaque material was outleakaged during interatrial septum paracentesis, which emerged no pericardial tamponment and successfully undertook the second RFCA after 1 month. No serious complication or recurrence was found during the follow-up.2 patients recurrented Af after RFCA.Conclusion Radiofrequency catheter ablation can be performed effectively and safely in patients with tachycardia.
