Objective:To investigate the change of plasma apelin-12 concentration in patients with atrial fibrillation and its relation with the heart autonomic nervous function。Methods:47 patients with atrial fibrillation were elected as study group(AF group),arnong 32 of those were paroxysmal,and 15 of those were sustained.The second group,33 patients without atrial fibrillation who have organic heart disease(NAF group).30 normal patients were elected as control group(NC group).The plasma apelin levels were measured with ELISA.Holter recordings was used to analyze the heart rate variability of AF group.Result:(1)The plasma apelin-12 concentrationof AF group and NAF group were significantly lower than those of NC group(P<0.01).The plasma apelin-12 concentrationof AF group was lower than those of NAF group(P<0.05).The plasma apelin-12 concentration between paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and sustained atrial fibrillation is undifferent.(2)As the patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation,five minutes before atrial fibrillation,5minSDNN (121o11±56.43 ms),SDANN(104.85±47.17 ms),RMSSD(51.79±36.87 ms)and PNN50(26.59±19.16%)was significantly higher than that of five minutes after atrial fibrillation,5rain SDNN(103.32±46.64 ms), SDANN(92.77±37.96 ms),RMSSD(44.01±31.05 ms),PNN50(21.79±15.40%)(P<0.05).(3)The plasma apelin concentration of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation patients was inversely correlated with the RMSSD(r_p=-0.386,P<0. 05)and PNN50(r_p=-0.369,P<0.05).Conclusion:The plasma apelin concentration of patients with atrial fibrillation was significantly lower.The onset of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation may related to the high tension vagus nerve system.The down regulation of apelin concentration may related to the onset of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation induced by high tension vagus nerve.
