Expression Of Polo-like Kinase(PLK1) MRNA In Pterygium

Purpose To examine the expression of Polo-like kinase(PLK1)mRNA in pterygium and normal conjunctivae.To investigate the correlation between PLK1 and pterygium.Methods Taking the tissues from 16 cases of pterygium operated in our hospital and 13 normal conjunctival tissues as comparison.The expression of PLK1mRNA was compared between this two groups by fluorescent quantitative PCR(FQ-PCR).Results△Ct was the difference in Ct(threshold cycle)values derived from PLK1 and GAPDH in each sample assayed,while△△Ct represented the difference between the paired samples.The n-foid differential ratio was expressed as 2-△△Ct.The mean△Ct was 9.56±1.30 in pterygium,while it was 10.71±1.39 in normal conjunctivae.The expression of PLK1 mRNA in pterygium was 2.08～2.36 times of that in normal conjunctivae(p=0.038).Conclusion The expression of PLK1 mRNA in pterygium is higher than that in normal conjunctivae,which indicates the probable correlation between PLK1 and pterygium.
