| Objective: To discuss the feasibility and the relative problem of double stapler technique(DST) in total mesorectal excision(TME) for low rectal cancer.Method:From January 2005 to October 2007,total mesorectal excision and double stapler technique was used in 162 patients with low rectal cancer. The follow-up visit was three months, six months, one year, two years and three years after the operation. anastomotic leakage, anastomotic stenosis ,anastomotic hemorrhage ,ability of controlled stool and defecation, recurrence is the index of follow-up visit.Result:The 162 patients were completed the operation successfully.13 case complicated with anastomotic leakage,no case complicated with anastomotic hemorrhage.3 case complicated with anastomotic stenosis and 83 case complicated with functional impairment of controlled stool and defecation. The most of the 83 case were recovered in 6 months to one year.25 case were recurred in two years. Conclusion:Double stapler technique is a utility means in the operation of rectal cancer .when the age become old,the probability of anastomotic leakage is increased .And when the staging is later, the opportunity of recurrence is increased. |
