Objective: At present, there are considerable investigation and reports concerning the vascular remodeling and the change of pathology, molecular biology, immnohistochemistry as well as drug effect to the disease of the heart and great vessels. But there is less investigation and reports concerning varicocele. This report to observe the change of vascular remodeling and the qualitation col-quantitation of actin and collagen in varicocele vassel wall. To observe the change of the qualitation and quantitation of actin and collagen in varicocele vessel wall .We desire to comprehend the role of the pathogenesis of varicocele in vascular remodeling .Methods: 1.Experimental group: Select 30 varicocele patients to accept operation in Department of Vrinary Surgery,The First Affiliated Hospital of Congqing University of Medical Sciences from March 2006 to June 2007 for experimental group.(26.29±9.12)years of age. 2.Control group.Select 24 nomal spermatic veins, they are taking from the kidney transplantation in Department of Vrinary Surgery,The First Affiliated Hospital of Congqing University of Medical Sciences from March 2006 to June 2007 for control group. (39. 56±8.32)years of age. 3.Smooth muscle cells(SMC),collagen fibres, typeⅠcollagen ,typeⅢcollagen andα-smooth mucle actin (α-actin)in 24 normal spermatic veins and 30 varicocle veins were studied quantitatively and qualitatively by the methods of V-G staining, imumohistochemistry, transmission electron microscopy. The image analysis system was applied to quantify the average optical density and the average area density of typeⅠcollagen, typeⅢcollagen andα-smooth mucle actin. Results: 1.Intima hyperplasia in the tunica intima and the medial thickening in the tunica media were the mainly histological apparances of varicocle veins associated with transition of SMC from the contractile phenotype to the synthetic phenotype. 2.The optical density ofα-actin in varicocle veins vessel wall(VW) was decreased significantly from that in the normal veins VW(0.22±0.03)vs(0.25±0.04),The area density ofα-actin in varicocle veins VW was decreased significantly from that in the normal veins VW(0.07±0.02)vs(0.12±0.05)also.3.The optical density of typeⅠcollagen in varicocle veins VW was increased significantly from that in the normal veins(0.23±0.06)vs(0.19±0.04),The area density ofα-actin in varicocle veins VW was increased significantly from that in the normal veins VW(0.12±0.04)vs(0.08±0.05)also.4.The optical density of typeⅢcollagen in varicocle veins VW was increased significantly from that in the normal veins VW(0.23±0.04)vs(0.17±0.06),The area density of typeⅢcollagen in varicocle veins VW was increased significantly from that in the normal veins VW(0.15±0.03)vs(0.12±0.05)also.Conclusion: Vascular remodeling of varicocle in the is a process that SMCs paraplasm are transitional from the contractile phenotype to synthetic phenotype, and associated with the deposition of the extracellular matrix. These changes led to dilatation of venous wall. This is probablely one of the pathogenesy of development of varicocle.
