Object: There is only small epidemic focus in arid grassland and desert of Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang. But Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang have specific geography characteristics in China and especially in evolution for co-speciation between Hantavirus and rodents. As the extension of epidemic focus in Inner Mongolia, lives and health are threatened by its spread. Considering the aspects mentioned above, we investigate the HFRS epidemic areas of Bayannaoer and regions around it, and also we investigate the epidemic potential areas of shihezi in XinJiang.Method: We collected sera of patients in convalescent phase and their closely contacted, trapped rats near patients'houses and field in Bayannaoer We use the methods of molecular epidemiology RT-PCR and IFA for detecting the positive lung and getting nucleotide sequences. In addition, we amplified the entire nucleoprotein sequences for positive sample. At last, we use the soft package of DNAStar and Phylip for phylogenetic analysis. We trapped rats in field of shihezi in the end of summer of 2005. We use the methods of IFA for detecting the positive lung. At last, we use sequences of mouse cytochrome B for phylogenetic analysis with the soft package of DNAStar and Phylip. Results: 1,We trapped 119 Rattus norvegicus rats and 21 Mus musculus rats near patients'houses, gained 126 sera strips of rats.Rattus norvegicus rats were predominant in this area with high antibody-prevalence and high virus-positive rates. 2, IgG of 9 patients in convalescent phase and 2 normal closely contacted showed higher levels with L99 of SEO than 76-118 of HTN.3, Nine PCR-positive were found from Rattus norvegicus, and phylogenetic analysis of these samples'partial S and partial M showed they belonged to subtypeâ… of Seoul virus. 4, 3 entire S sequences were detected, NMLRn86 of Bayannaoer, NMHRn55 and NMTRn56 of Huhehaote, the identity of nucleotides were 97.7%,97.9% between Bayannaoer and Huhehaote, and the identity of aa were 98.4%,98.6%.5, we trapped 235 rats and 187 Meriones meridianus rats in field of shihezi in the end of summer of 2005. We use the methods of IFA for detecting the positive lung, the result showed that there have no virus-positive rates, and there need more survey and experiments to answer for this results. Conclusion: Base on the physical geography and anthropogeography, we combined the type, structure, epidemic factors, transmitting approach of epidemic focus and infections and prevalent principal on human and animals, the results showed that Seoul virus was main etiologic agent in Bayannaoer. At the same time we analysis the results of molecular epidemiology of Hantavirus in shihezi according to the habitat and evolution aspects of rodent host.
