Objective To investigate the effects of different doses of propofol on Inflammatory factor and NF-κB in children undergoing open heart surgery. Methods Thirty children with congenital heart disease undergoing elective open heart surgery were randomly divided into three groups: control group(group C),propofolⅠgroup(2-4mg/kg/h)and propofolⅡgroup (13-11-9-7mg/kg,every 10 minutes or decreasing).Blood samples were taken from internal jugular vein before operation(T1),10min after initiation of operation(T2),15 min after aorta occlusion(T3),30 min after declamping of the aorta(T4),and 24h after operation(T5)for the measurement of TNF-α,IL-1,IL-8 factors and NF-κB.Results Tracheal extubation was earlier in PⅠand PⅡthan groupC(P<0.05).TNF-α, IL-1,IL-8 factors and NF-κB of three groups had no statistical difference before CPB(P>0.05)and were significantly increased at T3 and T4(P<0.05).TNF-α,IL-1,IL-8 factors and NF-κB decreased in PⅠand PⅡ(P<0.05)and were significantly decreased in PⅡthan group C(P<0.01).Conclusion Propofol is not inhibits the release of TNF-α,IL-1,IL-8 factors and NF-κB but have dose-response relationship. 13-11-9-7mg/kg propofol Used, decreasing infusion every 10 minutes,is a more reasonable doses in pediatric cardiac surgery and worth clinical application.
