Objectives:A transient ischemic attack is the loss of an opportunity. Patients in the event of short arm numbness, blurred vision or a short speech unclear didn't often see doctors and they often underestimated the risk of stroke or cardiovascular events in the near future. The doctors don't put enough the understanding and efforts of treatment on these patients. The patients with TIA need active therapy as the stroke ones and they that are vulnerable to stroke are the most important group of people who need treatment. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the possibility of early stroke and prevention measures to the patients with TIA, and to enhance first and secondary prevention from cardiovascular disease and the to reduce the incidence of cerebral infarction. Methods: The patients diagnosed with TIA were investigated and assessed in the Department of Neurology of First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University From January 1, 2005 to December 31, 2007.In accordance with the ABCD score, the patients were divided into two groups of high or low risk and the results were recorded respectively. The patients who took anticoagulant treatment specifically were selected. And then the results were analyzed statistically. Results: 450 cases of TIA patients were investigated. 21 in366 cases of the score less than four took stroke, accounting for 5.7% and 15 in 84 cases of the score more than four took stroke, accounting for 17.9%. 6 cases of the group of less in 93 cases were in a early stroke. There were 15 cases in 60 who are in the group of more took stroke. Frequency TIA patients no matter what in more or less group, must take anticoagulant quickly. Conclusions: The possibility of early stroke is greatly increased in the patients of the score more than four. The intervene and application of anticoagulant therapy to the high-risk group can prevent the formation of micro-thrombosis and have a certain effect on the prevention of recurrence and the development of a cerebral infarction. However, there is no significant difference between anticoagulation therapy to low-risk patients in this experiment and the general improvement in the treatment cycle.
