Objective: TO find whether the visual field changes of the glaucoma are different between preoperative and postoperative. Methods: 40cases( 46 eyes) of glaucoma with visual field were tested with the static central visual fields by Humphrey 750 automated campimeter before and afte(rone month and three months) trabeculectomy. Classify the glaucoma cases into early stage, moderate stage and severe stage by visual fields before operation with the Modified Hodapp-Parrish-Anderson Visual Fields Grading System. Then to compare the variations of each stages, the mean defect (MD),and the pattern standard deviation(PSD) statistically between preoperative and postoperative. And to divided into four quadrants as superior temporal, inferior temporal, superior nasal and inferior nasal. Then to compare the decibel(dB) values, and to analyze the correlation between the intraocular pressure(IOP) and the corrected visual acuity ,and between the intraocular pressure and the aforesaid parameters about the visual field defect. Results: In early stage and moderate stage , preoperative and postoperative of one month and three months between the MD(t1=4.523, t2=4.753,p<0.05.t1=3.782,t2=4.254,p<0.05),PSD(t1=3.462,t2=3.751,p<0.05. t1=3.257,t2=3.552,p<0.05) comparison a significant difference, after one month and after three months no significant difference between the comparison. in patients with advanced MD, PSD slightly higher than the preoperative, but no statistical difference For patients with early stage DB value of each quadrant by up to the main sites: inferior nose, superior nose, superior temporal, inferior temporal, the moderate stage rise in the value of DB patients with changes in distribution for the superior temporal, inferior nose, superior nose, inferior temporal, in patients with advanced stage DB increased value for the distribution of the changes: inferior temporal, superior temporal, inferior nose, superior nose . Preoperative IOP more value than those in comparison after a significant drop (t1=6.151,t2=5.935,p <0.01), after two relatively no significant difference. Before a comparison of vision no significant difference (t=1.238,0.861,p> 0.05). Intraocular pressure changes before and after operation and MD, PSD value of association, and there was no correlation between visual acuity. Conclusion: 1,Glaucoma patients after trabeculectomy, vision parameters remained relatively stable, slightly better than before operation, the sooner the better after treatment.2,To reduce intraocular pressure in patients with glaucoma to postpone the further outlook deterioration.3,Glaucoma and vision defects and retina nerve fiber and the anatomy of optic nerve head are close related to.
