Objective:To identify the effects of oxidative stress radiation on.myocardium and skin of rats induced by i800MHz electromagnetic.Methods:SD rats were exposed to 1800 MHz electromagnetic radiation 12 hours everyday(0.5 mW/cm~2 and 1.0mW/cm~2 power density),lasted 21 days,and then determined the activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD),glutathione peroxidase(GSH - Px),catalase(CAT)and the content of malondialdehyde(MDA).Results:In 0.5 mW/cm~2 group,the activity of SOD,GSH-Px,CAT and the content of MDA in myocardium in experimental groups is(13.71±1.92), (173.83±32.54),(1.12±0.25)and(1.94±0.59),in sham control group is (18.40±3.71),(210.62±29.27),(1.58±0.49)and(1.27±0.66);the activity of SOD, GSH-Px,CAT and the content of MDA in skin in experimental groups was (7.17±1.81),(63.95±16.52),(1.05±0.29)and(1.62±0.48),the activity of SOD, GSH-Px,CAT and the content of MDA in myocardium in sham-operated control group is(10.44±3.01),(70.91±14.51),(1.44±0.41)and(1.10±0.53),and significant differences(all P<0.05)were found between all experimental groups and sham-operated control group.However,in 1.0 mW/cm~2 group,the activity of SOD,GSH-Px,CAT and the content of MDA in myocardium and skin in rats compared with the sham control group does not have statistics significanceConclusion:The activity of SOD,GSH-Px,CAT decreased in myocardium and skin in rats were reduced by1800 MHz electromagnetic radiation(0.5 mW/cm~2 power density),and the content of MDA were increased,so 1800 MHz electromagnetic radiation(0.5 mW/cm~2 power density)can induce myocardium and skin to oxidative stress.
