Objective: To find out the situation of toxoplasmatic infection in central nervous system diseases in northern shan'xi, and explore the relation between diseases of central nervous system and antitoxoplasma antibody (ATAb) in order to make clear of its pathogenesis and achieve earlier detections and treatments. Methods :We examed and analyzed 180 portion serum of patients with diseases of central nervous system in vague pathogenesis and 135 portion serum of normal persons by ATAb, Data were analyzed by X~2 test. Results :(1) ATAb positive rate of 180 portion serum of patients with diseases of central nervous system in vague pathogenesis was 28.89%(52/180), and that in 135 health people was 9.63%(13/135), there were notable statistical differences between them(X~2=17.47, P<0.01).(2) ATAb positive rates in different types of diseases of central nervous system were different , which were 28.05%(23/82),44.44 % (4/9),32.14%(9/28),26.23%(16/61), respectively in encephalopathy, epilepsyin, mental disorder and neurasthenia. ATAb positive rate in different types of diseases of central nervous system was significantly higher than that in health population. There were notable statistical differences between them(P<0.01).But that in different types had little difference.(3) ATAb positive rates of males and females with diseases of central nervous system were 35.63%(31/87)and 22.58%(21/93), there had little statistical difference (X~2=3.37, P>0.05).(4) ATAb in different ages patients with diseases of central nervous system was 33.33%(6/18)below 26 years old, 30.00%(18/60) between 26 and 50 years, 27.45%(28/102) above 50 years old. There had little statistical difference between them(X~2=0.31, P>0.05).(5) ATAb positive rate of patients contacted cats or dogs was 47.62% (30/63) and didn't contact was 18.80% (22/117) , the difference was significant (X~2=16.55, P<0.01).(6) ATAb positive rates of TOX-IgM,IgG in180 patients with diseases of central nervous system different antibodies were: 12.22% (22/180), 8.89% (16/180) and 7.78% (14/180), respectively of IgG,IgM,IgM and IgG. ATAb positive rate of IgG was more higher than the others.Conclusions:(1) ATAb positive rate of the studied group was significantly higher than that in health population, there were notable statistical differences between them(P<0.01). The article indicated that we must carry out routine ATAb examinations in patients with diseases of central nervous system in vague pathogenesis, especially in patients with immunity ability reduced in order to make clear of its pathogenesis, achieve earlier detections and treatments, and reducing death rates of toxoplasmic encephalopathy.(2) ATAb positive rate in different types of diseases of central nervous system was different, that in epilepsyin was more higher, but that in different types had little difference(P>0.05). And ATAb positive rate in different types of diseases of central nervous system significantly higher than that in health population, there were notable statistical differences among them(P<0.01). So it's important to examinine ATAb of patients with diseases of central nervous system in vague pathogenesis.(3) ATAb positive rates of different sex patients with diseases of central nervous system were different , but there had little statistical difference(P>0.05). Which indicated that the possibility of toxoplasma infection was same in patients with diseases of central nervous system in vague pathogenesis, especially with immunity ability reduced .(4) ATAb positive rate in different ages was different, but there had little statistical difference(P>0.05). That showed diseases of central nervous system weren't relevant with toxoplasma infection.(5) ATAb positive rate of patients contacted cats or dogs was higher than that in didn't contact, there were notable statistical differences between them (X~2=16.55, P<0.01). That showed toxoplasma infection was relevant with cats or dogs contact, pets were one of important origin of toxoplasma infection.(6) ATAb positive rate of IgG was more higher, it showed toxoplasma infection maily were chronic infection in those patients.
