A Study On Influencing Factors Of Burdens And Mental Health Of Caregivers Of Stroke Patients

Objective:To get information about the mental health and the burden of caregivers for the disabled stroke survivors and their correlative factors.Explore the factors that impacting their burdens and mental health and perform some corresponding interventional measures.Methods:Combination of questionnaires investigation and interview were adopted in the survey.Questionnaires for caregivers to fill out include CBS(The caregiver burden scale)questionnaire on caregivers' burdens,HADS(The Hospital Anxiety And Depression Scale)on caregivers' mental healthResults:(1)The mean CBS was 56.42±11.77.Among all,7(11.7%) caregivers with not burdens,27(45.0%)caregivers with low bundens,26 (43.3%)caregivers with middle burdens.The mean HAD-A was 6.37±2.06,the mean HAD-D was 6.38±2.06,26(43.3%)caregivers felt depress,and 22 (36.7%)caregivers felt anoxic.(2)Factors contributed to the caregivers' burdens include the cognitive function,activity of daily living of the patients and the gender of the caregivers(P＜0.05).Factors contributed to the caregivers' Anxiety include the cognitive function,activity of daily living of the patients and the economic conditions ofcaregivers(P＜0.05)Factors contributed to the caregivers' Depression was the cognitive function of the patients.(P＜0.01) Conclusion:Most caregivers had low to middle burdens,and the burdens correlated with the cognitive function,activity of daily living of the patients and the gender of the caregivers.The caregivers' Anxiety correlated with the cognitive function,activity of daily living of the patients and the economic conditions of the caregivers.The caregivers' Depression correlated with the cognitive function of the patients.
