The Diagnoses And Treatment Of Giant Intracranial Aneurysms

Objective:To analyse the giant intracranial aneurysms completely by the way of comprehending international epidemiologic data,clinical presentations,the diagnoses and treatments of giant intracranial aneurysms.Methods:First,4 chinese articles were obtainedby searching VIP database using the phrase "Giant Intracranial Aneurysms",and second,98 english manuscript were obtained by searching the database of SDOL,SpringerLink,Ovid,Medline usingthe phrase "GiantIntracranial Aneurysms",and finally get 126 patients.Results: In a series of 126 giant aneurysms,37.3%of the patients present "sudden headache" because of subarachnoid haemorrhages,and 32.5%of the patients present "durative headache "because of mass effect;101 patients were treated,84.6%of patients treated by endovasculartherapy were almost recovery,and 30.4%of patients underwent surgery were almost recovery.Conclusion:The endovascular therapy may have a better result,the location and geometry of aneurysms and the medical condition of patients shoud be considered carefully before the treatment be made, each lesion is unique,and a distinct treatment strategy is very important.
