Objective:To uncover the correlation of ankle-brachial index (ABI)and brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity(baPWV)with coronary heart disease. Methods:Relevant data, including bilateral ABI and baPWV, blood pressure, blood biochemistry tests were collected in 170 consecutive patients who underwent coronary angiography in our hospital.According to the results of coronary angiography, patients were divided into 2 groups:group A(negative control) and group B(positive diagnosis of coronary heart disease). Lower value of bilateral ABI and higher value of bilateral baPWV were taken for further statistical analysis. Results:The mean ABI was lower in patients of group B (P<0.05),while the baPWV was much higher(P<0.01).Conclusion:ABI and baPWV were tightly related to coronary heart disease. They ought to be an efficient non-invasive procedure to detect coronary heart disease at early stage,as well as forecast the prognosis.
