Peptic ulcer disease is a global psychosomatic disease jeopardize that does harm to peoples' health and it's occurrence is closely related with psychological and social factors, in recent years, with the transition of medical model from the biomedical model to the biological - psychological - social medical model, the impact of psychosocial factors to peptic ulcers receives more and more attention. At present, a considerable amount of research shows that peptic ulcers are the results of interaction of various biological actors and psychological factors . Psychological and social factors lead to the occurrence of peptic ulcers through causing the body neuroendocrine disorders and weakening the gastrointestinal mucosa protection. In actual clinical work, there are many patients with peptic ulcer all hoping to receive psychological counselling from medical personnel , and they think that the single biological treatment of current clinical treatments is not sufficient to meet their demand for modern care in all directions. However, the provision of psychological care we can offer are lagging far behind the request peptic ulcer patients demand on us, so approaching necessity of implementing psychological intervention in peptic ulcers patients from the standpoint of modern medical model and feasibility of how to conduct effective psychological intervention will become an investigative hot of the broad masses of Chinese and foreign scholars at present. In recent years, there have been some relatively mature psychological treatment for peptic ulcers, such as cognitive therapy, behavioral therapy, psychological therapy and so on. Although the effect has also made certain, but a single comparison. The purpose of this study will jointly apply the four kinds of psychological intervention methods (cognitive restructuring, progressive muscle relaxation training, information given, exercise therapy) of stress inoculation training to patients with peptic ulcer, thus psychological interventions can become more comprehensive and more humane to meet modern care for patients with omnibearing, stereometric formula demand.Stress inoculation training (SIT) is the specific application of Donald - Meikenbaomu cognitive behavior modification technology skills to study. It is a combination of series of technology and process, including information given, Socrates discussion, cognitive restructuring, problem solving, relaxation training, repeat acts, self-monitoring, self-directed self-strengthening and changing the environment situation. It's a skills that can be used to deal with both for current problem and future difficulties. In order to study and research the role of stress inoculation training for improving negative mood and enhance compression capability with peptic ulcers patients , we selected 60 patients with peptic ulcer who came to the second medical college of JiLin University from March 1, 2007 to May 16, 2007. The group were randomly divided into two groups, the intervention group (conventional drug therapy + pressure inoculation training) and the control group (conventional drug therapy), 30 cases of intervention group patients were given stress inoculation training for three months accompanied with telephone follow-up visit to urge and to guide them . SCL-90, SAS,SDS psychological measuring scale act as the assessment standards. Points of anxiety, depression, paranoia, interpersonal sensitivity factor in peptic ulcers patients higher than in the norm according to the survey of SCL-90, SAS and SDS, as indicate psychological and social factors do exist in patients with peptic ulcers, and the intervention effect of stress inoculation training on patients with peptic ulcer show successively ,after three months, each factor of Scl-90, SAS, SDS scale compare with the same period scores of the control group and pretherapy, there were significant differences (P <0.05 ), and were lower than the national norm, that illustrate psychological intervention achieve the desired purpose. Telephone Follow-up feedback showed that: stress inoculation training has significant effect with regard to the improvement of peptic ulcers patients with depression, anxiety, reducing the negative life events and increasing ability of the stress response, and it is a reasonable, effective and worth promoting psychological intervention methods that is effective for improving the mood in patients with peptic ulcer.
