Objective to investigate the effects of simvastatin on the Serum TC. hs-CRP and the prognosis of patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS).Methods: With random contrast approach, we divide 144 cases of ACS into simvastatin treatment group (simvastatin 20mg/d, n=71) and simvastatin contrast group (n=69).Within 24 to 48 hours after the attack of the disease, the patients take simvastatin. Before they take the dure and eight weeks after the attack of the disease, the Serum TC,LDL-C,AST,ACT,CR of the patients are measured. This research takes 24 months. At the end of the 24th month, the result shows that the Serum TC, Hs-CRP,LDL-C of the patients in the simvastatin treatment group are reduced significantly compared with those of the patients in the simvastatin contrast group, with no obvious changes in the AST,ACT,Cr,statistics shows the terminal event ,the total death rate has been reduced by 10.5 percent(P<0.05),the death rate of CHD ,non-fatal myocardial infraction or cardiac arrest, reduced by 16.43 percent ,and the operation rate of blood-vessel rebuilding or percutaneous coronary invention(PCI) reduced by 16.72 percent. Conclusion: For patients with ACS,taking simvastatin and the like early can reduce their serum hs-CRP, TC,LDL-C and in the meanwhile the long term death rate of ACS and the operation rate of PCI can be reduced accordingly.
