Objective: Lupus erythematosus was a very common disease. Often there were some untypical cases, so clinical misdiagnosis rate was high. LBT had high specificity. It was very useful in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of LE. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical significance and the value of lupus band test (LBT) in the diagnosis of lupus erythematosus.Methods: The clinical data and the results of LBTs in 457 patients hospitalized from 1988 to 2007 were analyzed.Results:1,Older than 40-year-old age group with positive rate 92.28% was significantly higher than those in younger than 40 age group patients (81.70%) (P<0.01).2,LBT immune complex deposition positive rate of exposure part of normal skin (90.91%) was significantly higher than the non- exposed parts of normal skin (74.19%) (P<0.05).4,LBT positive rate of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (95.14%) was higher than that of skin erythema Lupus patients (83.39%) (P<0.01).5,There are significant differences between the positive rate of immune components, IgG (88.44%)was the highest, followed by IgM (66.83%), C3 (31.16%), IgA (11.31%) was the lowest rate.6,The positive rate of two samples of immune complex deposition of IgG + IgM was the highest (41.21%) (P<0.01), The positive rate of three samples of immune complex deposition of IgG +IgM+C3 was the highest (9.80%) (P<0.01), all positive combination of IgG + IgA + IgM + C3 was also common (7.54%)Conclusion:1,The positive rate of LBT in patients older than 40 years was higher.2,Exposure part of normal skin LBT immune complex deposition rate was higher than the non-exposed parts.3,The positive rate of LBT in SLE patients was higher than the SCLE patients.4,There are significant differences between the positive rate of immune components, IgG is the highest, followed by IgM, C3 (31.16%), IgA was the lowest rate.5,The positive rate of two samples of immune complex deposition of IgG + IgM was the highest.The positive rate of three samples of immune complex deposition of IgG + IgM + C3 was the highest, all positive combination of IgG + IgA + IgM + C3 was also common.
