Study Of 106 Patients With Metastatic Cancer Of The Neck

Objective To anslysis the relation between the the different region of cervical metastatic cancer and the orininal focus of patients .Methods There were 106 patients with metastatic cancer of the neck was reviewed analysising and counted the kinds and the relevant region of metastatic cancer of the neck and orininal focus. Results These data showed that there were 91patients whose original focus was identified and 15 patients whose original focus was unidentified , the main primary lesion accounts for 65.09%(69/106) in head and neck, 14.15%(15/106) in digestive system,and 6.61%(7/106) in the other region; Among all patients,16 patients accompanied with metastatic cancer of other position, such as lung , mediastinum , bone ,etc..but there is no stastatics relation in the side of neck and the region of cervcal nodes(P=0.858). Conclusions A certain law exists in cervical metastatic lymph nodes and the patients'original focus :the original focus above clavicula metastasize to the upper cervical lymph nodes and under clavicula metastasize to the lower cervical lymph nodes or supra clavicular fossa,but initial side of neck disease do not distinguished and the patients has an approximately equal male:female ratio. The law can be used for finding out and treating the original focus .
