Diabetes is one of the biggest problems to peoples'health. As we all know, insulin is now a quite effective drug to this disease. The subcutaneous route cause pains and inconvenience because of the daily injection. Hence, we applied the pulse lasting 5ms to cause skin electroporation at 120V with a new designed circle-array microneedle to enhace the transdermal of insulin. We found that insulin can't penetrate the stratum corneum without any operation, but the electroporation device with microneedle electrode can efficiently enhance the trandermal of insulin compared to using the microneedle solely. We also test the pulse parameters to SD rats, which didn't cause intense pain.Then we use the elecroporation to cure the diabetes rats induced by alloxan with the help of insulin gel. The blood glucose of rats decreased significantly, while the blood glucose of control group just changed as daily rhythm. |
